Charlie rushes over to the rocky steps - they lead all the way down to the cavern floor in a roundabout way. Almost forty minutes later he's at last at the bottom. He waves the last embers of the torch to see bodies littered around the cavern surface, moaning from exhaustion - and finally, there he is! Charlie rushes over to his avatar's son and gently picks him up. "I knew you'd come for me, dad," he says weakly. "Of course I would - you can always count on me, son."

The screen pulls back, and suddenly Charlie is looking at his avatar carrying his son back up the rocky steps. Huge letters swoop in as the camera pulls away. "AND THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS: TAKE YOUR TIME WHEN FACED WITH AN IMPORTANT DECISION."

Charlie yawns and nods his head in the direction of the blinking "Share with your friends?" prompt before pulling the headset off and dropping it on the dresser. Leaning back in bed, his eyes close, sending him into another world of dreams.

And so he drifts off to sleep, soothed by the gentle tones from the headset - still connected to the internet - as the 'Likes' come rolling in.
